Kevin Lee, our resident Trust and Safety Architect, has a weakness for British Marks and Spencer Wine Gums. He comes to us with extensive experience in the fraud and risk world, having previously led teams at Facebook, Square, and Google. Now he provides industry expertise both internally and externally on behalf of Sift Science!
Where is your favorite place to be?
Trekking in the Himalayas. I’m a big fan of the outdoors. It’s awesome to be a little isolated – you get a lot of time and headspace to think. At a previous job I took a sabbatical for three months and backpacked through Eastern Europe, Nepal, and Southeast Asia by myself. I met my wife on that trip – in Singapore – through my best friend.
What are 5 things that make you happy?

- Karaoke – my go-to song is “Wonderwall” by Oasis
What was your first job?
When I was 10 years old I worked as a prep cook and dishwasher at my parents’ restaurant, because I was too young to be in the front. I wanted to feel like I was making more money than I actually was, so I requested to be paid in dollar bills.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
An architect, because I liked to build things. It makes me think of George Costanza from Seinfeld. He could never really hold down a job, so he would lie to people and say he was an architect.
What skill would you love to learn?
Carpentry. I still like to build things!
