We’re Thankful For…

It’s starting to feel a lot like Siftsgiving! Here in San Francisco, the weather’s getting cooler, and Sifties are in and out of the office as they spend time with their families and friends. While fraudsters never rest– and neither do our machine learning algorithms – our team is taking time to celebrate the season and appreciate all that we have.
As we look back on the past 11 months and gear up for 2016, here are a few things from the past year that we’re so thankful for:
Our incredible team
The people who make up Sift Science are all unique. Everyone comes with their own backgrounds and opinions, but what brings Sifties together is a shared spirit of generosity. Whether it’s responding to customer inquiries, keeping the product alive, keeping the website alive, keeping Sifties alive, spreading the good word about Sift Science, or spreading the Sift Science love through recruiting, we’re in it to win it…together.
Our kickass customers
We wouldn’t be anything without our customers. From the up-and-coming startups to the long-established players and everyone in between, it’s an honor and a pleasure to serve our customers. Truly, we’re so thankful for every one that has chatted us, sent an email, stopped by our conference booths, or started a free trial. Thanks to y’all, Sift Science is now used on all seven continents! Thank you for making us a worldwide community of fraud fighters.
Being able to share the power of machine learning with the masses
Five or 10 years ago, the average business owner probably didn’t know a lot about machine learning – much less rely upon it for the day-to-day operations of their company. Big data-fueled automation was reserved for tech giants like Google and Amazon, while mom-and-pop shops had to hack it on their own. We like to think that we’re making machine learning an accessible tool for all businesses, regardless of size, resources, or location.
Our 2015 team offsite
As part of our commitment to always be planning, we just had an annual offsite where we get together as a team, no distractions, and just brainstorm. This year, we went to Asilomar in Pacific Grove, and took advantage of the fresh ocean air to clear our heads and eyes are we strategized for next year. We’re so incredibly fortunate to live and work in the Bay Area, and the team found renewed energy over sandcastle building and s’mores.
All of the amazing candidates who expressed interest in working at Sift
To all of the people that have applied or conversed with us over the past year, thank you. At recruiting fairs, through LinkedIn, and via our website, we meet all sorts of wonderfully smart and talented people. As a startup, we’re always learning and evolving, growing with equal parts restraint and rigor. As thankful as we are for the Sifties that already here and those joining us soon, we’re also thankful for those candidates that are sifty in spirit, and continue to cheer us on, even if it’s from a different career path.
Happy Thanksgiving and merry early Siftmas from all of us at Sift Science!
